I get this whether I am pasting my dxdiag directily or as a pastebin link. Also having same issue, display driver stops responding and recovers during dialogue and other sequences during dungeons and sometimes outside in the open world.
Others with the same series or family of cards are also having the same issue. The first few times i was able to fix this for a while by running the repair function on the game, but then that stopped fixing the problem.
Hey, Qamala! Thank you for including the DxDiag! With the repair working a few times, I am curious if you tried a fresh reinstall of WoW retail to test? Do you see any improvements with different DirectX versions? This time we are seeing some issues with DirectX11, and switching over to DirectX12 may help. Reverting to If neither of those seem to improve the display driver issues, could you contact our technical support team to check out the MSINFO file for these types of errors?
Yes, I did a fresh install but the problem remained. I have not tried different DX versions, I will try that, thanks. Keep in mind Windows 8. Multiple other reports were also using Windows 8. Whenever you see a dialog box pop up or you open your character screen, transmog collection it still happens. Hopefully Blizzard with focus in on this issue that seems to be prevalent amongst its player base. Also there is a ton of posts about it on the EU equivalent of these boards as well.
I hope this can be resolved. Please follow the steps given below. Type Troubleshooting and click Troubleshooting. Now click on view all option. Click on System maintenance and follow the prompts to run the troubleshooter. If the issue still persists, please follow method 2. Step 1 : Update the Display driver. Please follow the steps given below to update the display driver.
Select Device Manager. Expand Display adapters. Right-click the display driver and click Update Driver Software. Step 2 : Check if there are any updates for display drivers available in Optional Updates; this might fix the issue.
Refer to the following steps. At the Start screen, type Windows Update. Click or tap Settings on the right side of the screen, and then select Install optional updates from the left results. Step 3 : If the issue persists, I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the Display drivers.
Please follow the steps mentioned below to uninstall the display driver. Right-click the display card driver and click Uninstall. Click OK to remove the driver. After the un-installation is complete, reboot your computer as soon as possible. Computer will load the generic display drivers.
